Reimagine Your Landscape
Perhaps the reason we love "before and after" pictures so much is that it gives insight into the tremendous effort that went into a project!
Here are a few of our favorite transformations:
Outdoor kitchens are the emerging trend when it comes to backyard entertainment. A few years ago, only the most extraordinary backyard remodels had the luxury of outdoor cookware. Now, they have become a staple in almost every resort-scale project. An outdoor kitchen area extends the luxury of a home outside and increases the functionality of one's property. Because of this vital role, however, there are several things to consider when designing your new space.
For most of us, landscaping your yard is considered a mainly arbitrary or cosmetic cost for fun, enjoyment, and outdoor entertainment. However, more people are looking into other security options due to recent privacy and fire hazard concerns of home alarm systems. Instead, homeowners are interested in how simple landscaping adjustments can deter burglars and help protect their home.*
As we dive into autumn, the cooler temperatures and earlier sunsets mean the routine welcome of fuzzy sweaters, cozy movie nights, and hot apple cider. For most of October, though, this cooler weather is paired with gorgeous sunny days, where the air is crisp and clean. Thankfully, if you're like me and not quite ready to lock yourself inside all weekend, there are still plenty of things you can do outdoors unique to these fall months.
Fall is here, and most of the Pacific Northwest has already had it's first few seasonal downpours! One trend among the sustainable community is to collect rainwater. Harvesting and using rainwater cuts down on your water bills and is an excellent way to reduce your environmental impact. Now is a great time to use rainwater for watering your lawn, livestock, and garden as we head into Autumn!
September is Coastal Clean-Up Month!
No matter how close you live to water sources, though, this month offers an excellent opportunity to focus on reducing waste and protecting wildlife!
So if you are looking for something to do this weekend, grab a friend or two and a plastic bag and head to the beach!
